Tim Berens
A veteran of the orchestral pops world with more than 35 years playing and arranging professionally, Tim Berens began his career as the guitarist for the Cincinnati Pops Orchestra. Since the 1990’s, he has been arranging for the Cincinnati Pops. Soon, his arrangements caught the ears of others and commissions from conductors and orchestras across the country flooded in.
His arrangements are performed hundreds of times per year around the world in venues from Carnegie Hall to the Hollywood Bowl, and have been recorded on many CDs and television specials. As of June 1, 2023, he has written 350+ arrangements for orchestra.
After receiving many requests to rent his arrangements, the Berens Pops Library was founded to publish Tim’s pops arrangements and compositions.
"Tim consistently creates arrangements of exceptional quality, nuance and brilliance.
His works for the Cincinnati Pops have become classics in our library and audience favorites."
- John Morris Russell, Conductor, Cincinnati Pops Orchestra
“Your charts are so easy to read they make me want to play louder.”
- Doug Lindsey, Assistant Principal Trumpet, Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra
Louise Berens
Louise Berens is a music copyist, engraver and composer whose works have been performed by orchestras on five continents. Some recent projects include typesetting Rhapsody in Blue 2020 Edition, engraving the parts for the Public Television Special American Rhapsody, and engraving a set of arrangements for Jefferson Starship's Orchestra Show. Louise has engraved 150+ sets of orchestra parts that have been performed professionally.
Louise’s training in music and visual arts prepared her for her work as an eagle-eyed engraver. Her obsessive attention to detail combines with her understanding of how orchestral musicians read music to enable her to create clear, concise parts.
Rebecca Beavers, principal librarian of the Naples Philharmonic Orchestra called Louise's engraving "the best in the business." Doug Lindsey, assistant principal trumpet for the Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra said, "Your charts are so easy to read they make me want to play louder."
The National Symphony Orchestra commissioned an arrangement of "Goodbye Yellow Brick Road" for a performance with Sara Bareilles at the Kennedy Center.
"The program featured a brilliant orchestration of the Weather Report hit 'Birdland' by the CSO's own Tim Berens that was truly orchestral while preserving the sizzle of this jazz fusion hit."
