Jefferson Starship Orchestra Show
"Band sounded great, orchestra sounded great, audience went nuts.
What more could you ask for?"
This is not "The Music of Jefferson Starship",
this is
Jefferson Starship performing with orchestra.
Paul Helfrich, the DPO's President and CEO said "I was thrilled with the concert - one of the best we've had!" Neal Gittleman, the DPO's conductor, said in a Facebook post, "Backstage at the DPO with Jefferson Starship after a fabulous show to open the Rockin' Orchestra Series. Band sounded great, orchestra sounded great, audience went nuts. What more could you ask for?"
The Jefferson Starship Orchestra Show premiered before a sold-out audience on November 2, 2018 by the Dayton Philharmonic Orchestra.
The orchestra's musicians loved playing the charts written by Tim and Louise Berens. The audience's reaction to the show's premiere was wild. They gave the band and orchestra five standing ovations throughout the concert and remained on their feet for the final three songs.
“Awesome night last night at Tanger - Greensboro Symphony with special guest Jefferson Starship! It was a hippy trippy evening of songs that everyone knows . . . The entire band simply oozes cool, and their humble vibes made their presence even more special. And I have to say our orchestra was on fire, enough to evoke a well-deserved section-by-section shout out by lead vocalist Cathy Richardson, who was as charismatic and soulful as any singer out there.”
