Joy

Joy is an uptempo arrangement of Johann Sebastian Bach's serene masterpiece, Jesu, Joy of Man's Desiring.  The perpetual motion of the melody rides atop a lively, fun-loving groove in the rhythm section.

Title: Joy

Composer: Johann Sebastian Bach/Arranged by Tim Berens

Description: Joy begins with a serene setting of Bach’s masterpiece, before a harpsichord begins an uptempo 12/8 groove and is soon joined by the rest of the orchestra. The woodwinds are the first to play the theme in this joyously rhythmic performance. A halftime bridge leads to a minor key variation on Joy, and then the final statement of the melody leads to a spectacular ending.
